After your tattooing appointment, a Tatu Derm bandage will be applied. Leave it on for 24 hours.
At 24 hours Post-Tattoo:
you can take the bandage off by getting it wet and soaping it up thoroughly with a good, hypo-allergenic soap, like Aveeno Skin Relief Body Wash or Neutrogena Hypoallergenic Soap. Gently take one corner of the bandage and peel it back slowly. Ripping the bandage off quickly could result in tearing the skin. Wash the tattoo, again, thoroughly and gently, with the specified soap and water. Rinse well and pat dry with a clean towel.
At 48 Hours:
Wash the tattoo at least 2-3 times a day, taking care to pat dry. Do not use any ointments or creams on it. Let it air and let it be.
The 3rd day forward:
Wash the tattoo up to 2 times as per instructions for the previous day. This time, follow up with a hypoallergenic and unscented moisturizer. One of the best for our purposes here is Cereva, which can be bought at a local drugstore. Another option is Weleda's skin Food, which you can get at a health food store, such as Seattle Super Supplements, or Lucas' Papaw Ointment, which can be purchased online through Amazon. Use the moisturizer whenever your tattoo feels tight and dry.
No Swimming, saunas, steam baths, scratching, or touching with dirty hands until the tattoo is healed.
When going in the sun, use a strong sunscreen, such as SPF 100. The SPF 100 simply means that you need to reapply it every 100 minutes for it to work effectively.
