Each artist will be tattooing a breast cancer survivor for free whom has had a mastectomy surgery. We love all shapes and shades, so feel free to apply. In order to apply, you must match all requirements and be willing to commute to:

Our Instagram pages will also feature a link to our website to apply. Each participant must review the requirements and match all of them, to apply. If you do not qualify for this year’s event, then you’re welcome to apply another year. One application per person.

Winner will be chosen October 1st, 2024 and will be notified via email, phone call, and public announcements on our social media accounts. Everyone that applied will be notified via email the outcome and welcome to reapply next year. You are welcome to follow our Instagram account @shadesofpink_ink for any information and updates.

Once winner is chosen the person must schedule a in-person consultation for the first week of October. The winner will be matched with the appropriate artist that will best suit your design. The artist has full creative freedom, and artistic liberty with the design. If for any reason, the winner or the artist disagrees or discontinues the process, the artist will select another winner and you would forfeit your right to the free mastectomy tattoo.

Shades of Pink Ink Requirements for application 

  • Must be at least 18 years old to apply.
  • Must be a breast cancer survivor looking forward to embellishing oneself with a beautiful decorative tattoo.
  • You must have had a mastectomy (singular or bilateral) and at least two years post surgery, with no immediate plans for future surgeries. Some surgeries take longer than 2 years to heal.
  • During the in-person consultation, your artist will determine if it’s fully healed and able to be tattooed over.
  • One application per person.
  • Applicant will be required to submit 3 to 5 reference images of tattoo styles and theme. This helps to further determine best artist for the project.
  • Once application deadline ends (Sept 30th, 2024), please no emails for inquiry of the shares of pink event will be responded to. Please respect the time for us to process the applications.
  • Once you submit an application, we will email you in regard to us receiving it and processing application.
  • Winners will be picked October 1.
  • In regard to the tattoo location, no other tattoos should be present (areola tattoos are welcomed).
  • No cover up tattoos will be excepted for this event.
  • Looking to get a decorative tattoo over the mastectomy area. Areola reconstructive tattoo are also accepted.
  • Size of Tattoo will be able to be completed in one session, roughly 3 to 8 hour timeframe, which is roughly the size of your hand.
  • If the session exceeds one session you will be required to pay for any additional sessions at a set fee of $250.
  • One touch up session, if needed, will be free.
  • Additional sessions if needed will be scheduled at the artist’s discretion and may not be immediate, and must be after the first session is fully healed.
